Carson City Fire Department crews were called early Friday morning to a series of power line transformer fires.
Crews responded at around midnight to Kansas and Utah streets and Kenny Way after dispatch received several 911 calls about blown transformers and power lines on fire.
Firefighters on scene report tree branches were found on power lines that were sparking and there was a number of small explosions from the transformers. The fire from the down lines was extinguished. NV Energy arrived on scene at 12:44 a.m.
As of 12:45 p.m. there were no power outages in Carson City on NV Energy’s web page.
