Fire crews tending to the 300-acre Laurel Fire that burned off of Deer Run Road on the east side of Carson City on in the mop-up phase. While the fire area continues to smolder no structures are threatened, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center. The fire on BLM land began at about 1 p.m. and was fanned by flames, at one point threatening some homes in the area. However the winds pushed the fire into Brunswick Canyon. Winds were calm overnight and combined with the cold air, the fire was able to settle.
