A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of methamphetamine possession, driving under the influence of drugs, driving without insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to stop at a stop sign, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Anthony Rodrigues was taken into custody in the area of South Carson Street and Fifth. According to the arrest report, the man was stopped after a Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team sergeant observed him not stopping at a stop sign.
The man told officers he was on probation. He then became uncooperative and was detained. During a pat search the officer found a meth pipe with methamphetamine residue inside. Bail: $5,623.
In other arrests:
— A Carson City man was arrested Wednesday in the 4600 block of West Sutro Terrace for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched at 7 p.m. to a Sweetwater Drive home for a report of domestic battery.
The deputy met with the victim who stated she ended her relationship with her boyfriend because he was using drugs again. She went to her parents home and the man followed her.
She began to walk away from him and was punched in the back of the head and then in the face. The investigating deputy observed a large bump on the women’s right eye that was black and blue. The woman advised she wanted to press charges and file a restraining order.
Deputies met with the man who said there was an argument with the woman over his phone and that nothing else happened. He was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
— A 26-year-old Carson City woman, Destiny Chiriboga was arrested Wednesday, 7:07 p.m. in the area of Roop and Corbett for felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance-meth, misdemeanor DUI drugs and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
According to the arrest report, an officer made a traffic stop after seeing the driver failing to maintain lanes of traffic and then driving through a red light. The officer could smell an odor of marijuana in the vehicle. The woman said it was probably her boyfriend who was smoking in the car earlier. Officers recovered a velvet bag with methamphetamine inside.
The woman told the arresting officer she was holding it for a friend but would not provide the friend’s full name. Officers also recovered less than an ounce of marijuana. Deputies believed the woman was under the influence of cannabis while driving and showed signs of impairment. Bail: $3,637.
— A 36-year-old Sacramento man was arrested Wednesday, 4:45 p.m. in the area of Carson and Sonoma streets for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued out of Esmeralda Township Court. Bail: $680.
— A 44-year-old transient, Jason Gibson Correll, was arrested Wednesday, 3:25 a.m. at Carson Tahoe Hospital for felony suspicion of incident exposure and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. According to the arrest report, the man allegedly exposed himself in the lobby of the emergency room waiting area. Bail: $5,232.
