Nevada Fence, a proud local business with deep roots in the Northern Nevada community, is spreading holiday cheer this season with the donation of a few truckloads of toys for families in need. This generous contribution is part of the Angel Tree program run by The Salvation Army of Carson City, which provides gifts for children whose families are facing financial challenges.

Issella Fuentes from Nevada Fence, who helped organize the effort to purchase items for girls and teen girls, highlighted the partnership with Walmart.

“Walmart was amazing,” she said. “They supplied us with staff who gave us our own checkout lane, provided insight on what items were most popular amongst different age groups, and even helped our company purchase more gifts by giving us a generous gift card toward the purchase at checkout.”

The donation was inspired by a heartfelt moment of action. When one of Nevada Fence’s managers learned that The Salvation Army had 78 families participating in the Angel Tree program who had not yet received a single gift, he immediately reached out for support. His call was met with a resounding response from General Manager Phil Anderson, who rallied the team to ensure Nevada Fence could make a meaningful contribution.

“Nevada Fence is making a large dent, but The Salvation Army still needs more donations to ensure that no child goes without something under the tree,” said Anderson. “This is a season of giving, and it’s a privilege to play a role in bringing joy to children and families in our community.”

Ambur, Walmart Store Manager, also expressed excitement about supporting the program: “We always look forward to teaming up with community organizations, especially during this special time of year. It’s exciting to come together and bring holiday joy to families this season.”

Captain Sara Evans, Carson City Corps Officer for The Salvation Army, emphasized the importance of strong partnerships in meeting the needs of local families.

“We are doing our best every year to help every young person who is in need, and it is through strong partnerships we are able to do that,” she said.

She added, “We still have many young people and families that still have needs, as we are looking to secure 80 more holiday meats for families.”

This effort underscores Nevada Fence’s long-standing commitment to community involvement across Northern Nevada. Since its inception, the company has been dedicated not only to building quality fences but also to strengthening the communities it serves. From Carson City to Reno, Dayton, and beyond, Nevada Fence has consistently supported initiatives that make a difference in the lives of local families.

Both The Salvation Army of Carson City, a faith-based nonprofit organization, and Nevada Fence serve multiple Northern Nevada communities. Nevada Fence serves Carson City, Reno, Dayton, Gardnerville, Minden, and Fallon. The Salvation Army provides critical programs in Northern Nevada, such as food assistance, emergency shelter, disaster relief, and the cherished Angel Tree initiative.

Each year, the Angel Tree program depends on the generosity of businesses and individuals to fulfill the holiday wishes of children who might otherwise go without. Nevada Fence’s donation will ensure that dozens of children across the region wake up on Christmas morning with gifts under the tree.

For those inspired by Nevada Fence’s example, there is still time to contribute. The Salvation Army is still in need of additional donations for the families in its  program. Together, we can ensure that every child experiences the magic of the holiday season.
