Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Division has identified a 75-year-old Dayton man who died in a crash that happened Nov. 23 at U.S. 50 and Fortune Drive in Lyon County.
Brian Wesley Stebbins Sr., died Dec. 9 due to injuries suffered in the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a white 2014 Toyota Avalon with a driver and two passengers was traveling westbound on US50 and stopped at a controlled intersection of US50 and Fortune Drive in the number two travel lane.
A red 2001 Ford F-150 was traveling westbound on US50 approaching Fortune Drive in the number two travel lane. For reasons not confirmed at this time, the driver of the 2001 Ford F-150 did not use due care, and the front of the Ford F-150 struck the rear of the 2014 Toyota Avalon.
The three occupants of the Toyota were transported to an area hospital with moderate to serious injuries. Stebbins Sr. was hospitalized and died due to injuries Dec. 9.
The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Region 2 (Northern Command) Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating this crash.
