This public comment notice is hereby given that Carson City conducted a public discussion on December 21, 2022, at 1:30 p.m., to discuss additional funding for the Ron Wood Family Support for COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program for grant period (February 1, 2023, to January 30, 2024), for the State Community Development COVID-19 Block Grant (CDBG-CV) Program.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors approved the original CDBG-CV grant amount of $120,000 on June 30, 2021, and $100,000 on September 2, 2021, per the recommendation of the Application Review Work Group.

The purpose of this notice is to give citizens an opportunity to make comments on the requested additional funding of $60,958 to the Ron Wood Family Resource Center for the Ron Wood Support for COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program. The Ron Wood Family Resource Center has requested an addition $60,958 to the original request of $220,000.

The reason for this request is that the Ron Wood Family Resource Center has a need for the CDBG-CV funding; the program is helping individuals and families who are still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ron Wood Family Resource Center spent the first allocation of $120,000, those funds served 121 unique individuals in 53 families. The second allocation of $100,000 was spent and those funds served 214 unique individuals in 82 families. The number of Carson City individuals served, to date, is 335 in 135 families; therefore, Ron Wood Family Resource Center is requesting an additional $60,958 for this program.
