With Christmas just a week away, our Cat of the Week is hoping he will get his Christmas wish of a home for the holidays. Dekes is a big, handsome black short-haired boy who looks like he could have stepped straight out of the jungle book. At about 8 months old, this neutered male has sleek panther looks that stop people in their tracks… even if the camera never quite does him justice.
Dekes will be the first to admit that sitting still for a photo is not high on his priority list. Why would it be, when there are people to charm and friends to hang out with? He’s much too busy seeking attention, rubbing up for pets, or checking in with his feline pals to pose for the camera. In person, his personality absolutely shines—something you must experience for yourself.
Once Dekes feels comfortable, he is a friendly, social sweetheart who truly enjoys being part of the family. He gets along well with other cats and is also comfortable with cat-friendly dogs, making him a wonderful fit for many types of households. He loves attention, enjoys being petted, and has a gentle, affectionate way that makes it hard not to fall in love with him.
And as an added bonus, Dekes is a mouser extraordinaire—handsome, helpful, and happy to show off his skills. Sweet, playful, and full of charm, this young guy has so much love to give.
