Alyssa Bianchi-Herrera, a cherished kindergarten teacher in the Carson City School District, has spent years nurturing and inspiring her young students, but now she needs the community’s support as her family navigates an unimaginable journey.
Earlier this year, Alyssa and her husband, Tony, welcomed two beautiful babies into the world. From the start, both children faced life-threatening medical challenges, spending months in the NICU and undergoing extensive treatments and surgeries. They continue to fight for their health, requiring specialized therapies, expensive medications, and constant care.
As a result of these medical complexities, Alyssa made the heartbreaking decision to step away from her teaching position to care for her children full-time. Their health conditions, including the need for a feeding tube and severe reflux issues, make daycare impossible.
