Wreaths Across America is a heartwarming, national volunteer initiative intended to remember fallen soldiers, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation the value of freedom.
On Dec. 14 at 10 a.m., the Civil Air Patrol (NV0040P – Carson City Composite Squadron PCR-NV-047) will lead the effort to lay remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes at Lone Mountain Cemetery. Across the nation, with thousands of simultaneous events from Arlington National Cemetery to Lone Mountain Cemetery, millions will receive a meaningful tribute for their dedication and sacrifice.
With approximately 2,200 veterans at Lone Mountain Cemetery, it is imperative that every veteran is included as part of this event. Volunteers and wreath sponsors are critically needed to ensure every veteran receives a proper remembrance, which they deserve.
To volunteer or sponsor a wreath ($17 each), please visit the Wreaths Across America website at https://wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/24324/Overview.
The community and volunteers of all ages and abilities are invited to join Carson City and the Civil Air Patrol in this meaningful event. Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather and wear gloves and close-toed shoes.
