The Carson City School District is proud to recognize Greater Nevada Credit Union as its December Community Partner of the Month as a Legacy Level partner, the highest level, for their ongoing commitment to supporting local schools and for their generous financial and in-kind contributions to enhance the educational experience for students in Carson City for nearly 30 years.

As part of its Community Partner Program, the school district features a local business or organization each month for their commitment in helping schools and children have better opportunities and experiences in alignment with the district’s Strategic Plan goals.

Greater Nevada Credit Union is considered a Community Partner on the Legacy Level because they support four or more Strategic Plan goals including regularly donating items, lunch, pizza parties and time to boost teacher and employee morale (Goal 1), sponsoring meals for new employee orientation meetings (Goal 1), hosting an educational and functional GNCU branch for students at Carson High (Goal 2), supporting efforts to reduce chronic absenteeism and sponsoring community events to increase parent and family engagement (Goal 3), bicycle donations for Mayor Bagwell’s attendance efforts (Goal 4), sponsoring the digital Marquee out front of Carson High and fulfilling leadership roles on the Carson City Schools Foundation board (Goal 5). These, as well as many other donations and contributions throughout the years, have earned them the Legacy Level.

“We are deeply grateful to Greater Nevada Credit Union for their unwavering commitment to our students and our community’s future,” said Andrew Feuling, superintendent for the Carson City School District. “Through their generous partnership, they continue to invest in the future of our children by helping us create opportunities for success and by fostering a brighter tomorrow for all.”

The Community Partner Recognition System aims to build a stronger, more engaged community dedicated to the success and well-being of its students. Additionally, it acknowledges and celebrates the valuable contributions of our community partners as they align with the goals found in the Carson City School District Strategic Plan Empower Carson City 2027.

  • Goal 1: Exceptional Staff
  • Goal 2: Curriculum that Matters
  • Goal 3: Engaged Parents and Families
  • Goal 4: Healthy Generations of Carson Students
  • Goal 5: Community in Full Partnership

“This collaboration truly exemplifies the power of our community working together to make a difference,” Feuling continued.

The school district looks forward to continuing this valuable partnership and encourages other community members and businesses to consider how they can contribute to the success of students.
