UPDATE 8:27PM: The shooting suspect has been detained, according to Reno Police Department via Twitter, there have been no reports of injuries to officers, deputies or civilians.

Reno Police Department and area agencies responded Tuesday night to an active shooter situation at the Montage apartments located 255 N Sierra Street in downtown Reno.
Police are at the scene at Sierra Street and Commercial Row. A reporter from Channel 4, Ben Margiott, said he heard multiple gunshots. Reno Police, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, fire and ambulance agencies have responded. Law enforcement has said that a male suspect believed to be the shooter is barricaded inside.

RPD via Twitter says 2nd Street, Sierra, 4th St., Commercial Row, and adjacent side streets are closed.
The incident began before 7 p.m. Police warn people to stay out of the area. N. Virginia Street to downtown is closed.
