A transformer that was heard exploding Monday afternoon in the 600 block of William Street in Carson City has led to a power outage in the area.
At least 128 NV Energy customers were without power from the outage, which happened at around 12:41 p.m. NV Energy is investigating the transformer that apparently exploded, which was heard on William Street. The utility says it is working to resolve the problem.
Carson City Fire Department responded due to the explosion. By 1:02 p.m. some customers reported getting their power back.
