The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from individuals interested in serving on the building code Board of Appeals, 9-1-1 Surcharge Advisory and Carson City Audit Committee.

Board of Appeals
Supervisors are seeking applications from individuals interested in serving on The Board of Appeals in the following categories: General Contractor, Registered Architect, Electrical Engineer and Mechanical Engineer. The term begins Jan. 1, 2026, and ends Dec. 31, 2027.
Applications will be accepted until Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. Interviews for this volunteer position are tentatively planned to be held at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025.
9-1-1 Surcharge Advisory
Supervisors are seeking applications from individuals who may be interested in serving on the 9-1-1 Surcharge Advisory Committee. There are three open positions, each for a two-year term.
Two Citizen at Large positions: must be a resident of Carson City and possess knowledge concerning telephone systems for reporting emergencies.
Local Exchange Carrier position: Must be a representative of an incumbent local exchange carrier which provides service to persons in Carson City.
The purpose of the committee is to serve as the official advisor to the Carson City Board of Supervisors in developing a 5-year master plan for the enhancement or improvement of the telephone system for reporting an emergency in Carson City and to oversee any money allocated for that purpose.
The committee meetings are held at least quarterly. Applicants should be prepared for a minimum commitment of less than two hours a month. The positions serve without compensation.

Carson City Audit Committee
Supervisors are seeking applications from individuals who may be interested in serving on the Audit Committee as a Citizen-At-Large. There are two open positions, each to fill a term that ends in December 2027.
Applicants must be:
— A resident of Carson City.
— Have experience in financial services, public accounting, and/or governmental auditing, and current knowledge of public laws and regulations governing an audit committee.
— Shall not accept any consulting, advisory, or other compensatory fees from the city and may not be an affiliated person with the city or any subsidiary thereof.
The role of the Carson City Audit Committee is to maintain oversight of the auditing function, internal and external, resulting in increased integrity and efficiency of the audit processes for the city and the city’s system of internal controls and financial reporting.
The Committee meetings are held at least quarterly. Applicants should be prepared for a minimum commitment of up to three hours a month. The positions serves without compensation.
