Regional Transportation Commission
The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC).
The RTC is the policy making body on transportation issues within Carson City whose purpose is to establish priorities and recommend appropriate funding for transportation improvement projects.
The members of the Regional Transportation Commission also serve on the Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Board (CAMPO) to discuss and take action on federal monies spent on transportation and transit projects within the Carson Metropolitan Planning Area.
There are two positions open, each for a term that expires December 2027.
The Commission meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 4:30 p.m. after the adjournment of the CAMPO meeting. Applicants should be prepared for a minimum commitment of up to 10 hours a month. The position shall serve without compensation.
Applications will be accepted until Nov. 10, 2025, at 2 p.m.
Interviews for this volunteer position are tentatively scheduled for the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025.
Carson City Culture and Tourism Authority
Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Carson City Culture & Tourism Authority, also known as CTA. The Board oversees all tourism matters within Carson City. Meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 4 p.m. at the Community Center in the Sierra Room. Applicants must be willing to commit approximately six to eight hours a month.
There is one position open to serve a 2-year term, for a person who can represent “the hotel motel industry.”
The Board of Supervisors will interview and appoint the qualified person to the Board. All members will serve without compensation.
