At 3:19 p.m. Friday afternoon a vehicle was reported to be on fire in the 4900 block of S. Edmonds Road.

As of 4:00 p.m. the fire was out and a tow truck was called to remove the vehicle.

The Carson City Fire Department released this statement:

“Your Carson City Firefighters are on scene of detached garage fire on the south end of the city. Firefighters quick actions prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby trailer and house. One firefighter received a minor injury. The garage and one vehicle inside were destroyed in the blaze.”
