The Carson City Historical Society invites the community to wrap up Nevada Day celebrations with an Open House at the Foreman-Roberts House Museum on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., immediately following the Nevada Day parade.
Visitors will be welcomed for docent-led walk-throughs of Carson City’s beloved 1860s Gothic-Revival landmark and treated to the newly opened R. Merle Trehal art exhibit, Wild, Wild West—Nevada Style!, on view in the adjoining Carriage House. The exhibit showcases striking Western scenes by the late Nevada artist whose work captures the people, landscapes, and spirit of the Silver State.
“Opening the house on Nevada Day weekend is our way of saying, ‘come on in, this history belongs to you,’” said Liz Cain, president of the Carson City Historical Society. “The Historical Society has been leading the way in preserving Carson City’s heritage for over 50 years—and we’re looking forward to 50 more, keeping history alive for future generations.”
