Update 5:45 p.m.: One outage affecting 19 customers has been resolved; the other outage affecting 1,900+ customers is still listed as active.


NV Energy is reporting two outages affecting around 2,000 customers in Carson City, just a few short days after a similar outage occurred just two days ago in the same area of the city.

As of 5 p.m. Thursday, there are two outages on the west side: one that began at 4:36 p.m. and is affecting 1,909 customers, which has no estimated time of restoration, and the cause is under investigation. The epicenter is located near S. Minnesota Street and Carson Street, with reports of homes without power up into the Kings Canyon area.

The second is located in downtown Carson City and is affecting 19 customers, which is listed as having the same start time, with no estimated time of restoration and the cause is under investigation.
