Western Nevada College’s Nursing Program has earned the distinction of being ranked No. 1 in Nevada by Nursing Process, a nationally recognized online resource for nursing education and career information.

This recognition builds on WNC Nursing’s history of excellence. Recently, Registered Nursing ranked WNC’s program second in the state out of 13 analyzed programs.

Nursing Process evaluates state-approved nursing programs using a comprehensive methodology that measures academic quality, NCLEX-RN exam performance, affordability, student outcomes and overall reputation. After analyzing programs across the Silver State, WNC’s Associate of Applied Science in Nursing was awarded the top spot for its commitment to academic excellence and student success.

“Western Nevada College is proud to be recognized as Nevada’s top nursing program,” said WNC Nursing and Allied Health Director Dr. Audrey Auer. “This honor reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students, and reaffirms WNC’s role in preparing highly skilled nurses who will strengthen the healthcare workforce in Nevada.”

The program integrates rigorous coursework in nursing, social sciences, biology, and psychology with hands-on clinical experiences. Students receive training in key areas such as medical-surgical nursing, mental health, pharmacology, and family nursing. Upon completion, graduates are prepared to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam, with many advancing their education through RN-to-BSN programs.

“This honor is a testament to the dedication of our faculty, the hard work of our students, and the strong partnerships we’ve built with healthcare providers throughout the region,” said WNC President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe. “WNC’s Nursing Program continues to prepare graduates who are not only well-trained and highly skilled, but also deeply committed to serving their communities. We are proud to play such a vital role in strengthening Nevada’s healthcare workforce.”
