The Winter Wishes program connects children with caring community members who sponsor them by fulfilling holiday wish lists.

Carson City School District’s team of School Social Workers is once again leading the CCSD Winter Wishes program, an annual initiative designed to support students and families in need during the holiday season.

The program connects children with caring community members who sponsor them by fulfilling holiday wish lists. Each sponsor receives a list with a child o children needs/wants, then shops for new, wrapped, and labeled gifts to be delivered to the assigned school site between Dec. 1–10.

Community members, local businesses, and organizations are encouraged to sign up by Oct. 17 to ensure every child is matched with a sponsor.

“Winter Wishes is such a powerful reminder of how our community can come together to lift each other up,” said Bailee Barber, CCSD School Social Worker. “When families know their children will be cared for and celebrated during the holidays, it eases stress and brings real joy into their homes.”

Here’s how to help:

Together with the community, CCSD School Social Workers are working to ensure every child experiences the warmth and joy of the holiday season.
