Bordewich Bray Elementary School welcomed students, parents and families for a festive and educational evening at its Pumpkin Math Night Wednesday, Oct. 1.
The event, hosted by the school’s House of Altruismo, blended fall-themed fun with hands-on learning activities.
Bordewich Bray students and staff have been sorted into “houses” (think Harry Potter!) based on the RCA System, which is meant to create a positive culture, climate and school spirit. House Altruismo is the “House of Givers,” and their house color is black!
Families enjoyed a wide variety of stations including pumpkin painting, a cow pie 50/50 bingo raffle, pumpkin bowling and pumpkin-based STEM activities designed to promote science, technology, engineering, math and problem-solving skills.
The event encouraged family engagement while giving students opportunities to explore learning in creative ways.
Pumpkin Math Night is part of Bordewich Bray’s ongoing house system, where each of the school’s four houses will host a special family engagement night throughout the year.
The next event, a Multicultural Night hosted by the House of Amistad, will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025.
