During the annual Carson City Mint Coin Show, the Friends of the Nevada State Museum (FNSM) officially drew the winning raffle ticket for an uncirculated 1884 Morgan silver dollar minted right in Carson City. The winning ticket was held by Reno resident Andy Hettrick.
Hettrick, a Nevada native who grew up in the Carson City and Douglas County area, expressed his excitement upon learning he had won, noting that this is the very first Carson City-minted coin in his collection.
Valued at $369, the historic silver dollar was generously donated by Northern Nevada Coin. All proceeds from the raffle serve as a critical funding source for FNSM, directly supporting the Nevada State Museum’s ongoing archival preservation and educational programming.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to Northern Nevada Coin for their generous donation, as well as to everyone who purchased tickets to support our cause,” said Dave Martin, chair of the Friends organization.
The Friends of the Nevada State Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the museum’s mission through volunteer service, fundraising, and educational outreach.
