Officers with the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Division of Parole and Probation conducted a Lifetime Sex Offender Compliance Operation on Sept. 20, 2019. The primary objective of the operation was to verify NPP supervised sex offenders on probation for a period of Lifetime Supervision were residing at the address they provided to state and local authorities pursuant to sex offender registration mandates per Nevada law.

The focus of the operation was placed on personal observation of offenders at their registered address and verifying their reporting place of residence via contact with roommates, neighbors or landlords.

During the operation, NPP officers attempted to confirm residential compliance for Lifetime Supervision offenders in Washoe County.

The NPP Division was successful in confirming 121 offender residences, with an additional 68 attempts made. Of the 68 attempts, 24 offenders were discovered to be out of compliance with their residence condition of Lifetime Supervision as they were found to have either provided an invalid address or relocated without seeking approval and notifying their assigned NPP officer.

Should NPP not be able to make contact with these 24 offenders and confirm their compliance with sex offender registration mandates, new felony charges will be filed by NPP or local authorities for Violation of Lifetime Supervision and Sex Offender Failure to Register.
