On Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, at approximately 8 a.m., the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a missing adult in Fernley. Deputies learned that 42-year-old Rico Aranda had not been seen or heard from by family since Sept. 15, 2026.
Aranda recently relocated to the Fernley area from Utah and is believed to have acquaintances in the Sparks area. Family members reported concerns regarding recent drug use and its potential effect on his behavior and well-being.
Aranda is believed to be traveling in a silver 2000 Mercedes-Benz SUV bearing Utah license plate G856DW. His current location and direction of travel are unknown.
