Meet Milo, It’s his turn to go home!
Milo has been waiting patiently—or at least as patiently as a very smart, very curious, very determined little cat can manage—for someone to realize that he is the one they’ve been looking for. He is back as our Cat of the Week because this fabulous little guy desperately needs a home, and frankly, we think it’s about time it was Milo’s turn.
Every week at Catmandu, we watch cats arrive, settle in, find their people and head off to their happily-ever-after. Milo has watched it happen over and over again. He’s been here for more than 60 days.
He has watched other cats get chosen while he waits. And apparently, Milo has decided that if people aren’t going to choose him, he’s going to take matters into his own paws.
When another cat is getting ready to leave in a carrier, Milo has been known to climb right into the carrier himself—as if to say, “Wait! You’re taking a cat? Take ME!”
We can hardly blame him.
Milo is an absolutely adorable little black-and-white tuxedo who is just a little over 2 years old. He is intelligent, curious, playful and blessed with a very big personality packed into one little cat. He loves people and wants to be involved in whatever is happening. If you are doing something, Milo feels quite certain that he should be supervising it. If you are sitting down, he is happy to keep you company. If you are busy, well… clearly you need Milo’s assistance.
He is sweet, cuddly, funny and incredibly entertaining. He’s the kind of cat who makes you laugh simply by being himself.
There is one thing about Milo that his future family will need to understand: he is extremely hard of hearing, actually close to deaf. Milo came to us from a very neglectful home where, heartbreakingly, one of the children poured glitter glue into his ears. The glue eventually came out, but it damaged the delicate tissues inside his ears.
Because he doesn’t hear well, Milo tends to talk a little louder when he wants your attention. And if you call his name from across the room, he may not come running—not because he’s ignoring you, but because he genuinely may not hear you.
Honestly, if you didn’t know Milo was hearing impaired, you would probably just think, “Yep. That’s a cat being a cat.”
Milo has also decided that he would really prefer to be an only child. During his time at Catmandu, he has learned to tolerate other cats and coexist with them, but given his choice, Milo would much rather have all the people, attention, toys and laps to himself. He is looking for a home where he can be your one and only furry companion.
What Milo really needs is someone who will see past his hearing impairment and recognize the wonderful little cat underneath it. He doesn’t need pity. He needs a person who appreciates a cat with personality, humor, curiosity and a whole lot of love to give.
He has spent more than 60 days watching other cats leave.
He has climbed into adoption carriers hoping someone would finally choose him.
Milo thinks it’s his turn, and we have to agree. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to go. If you’re looking for a sweet, amusing, affectionate little tuxedo with a giant personality and absolutely no shortage of opinions, Milo would love to meet you. He’s ready for his turn to go home.
