The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a male suspect in an armed robbery that happened Wednesday morning at the Valero gas station in Dayton.
According to Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigators, the male suspect entered the store at around 9:40 a.m., went behind the register and presented himself to be concealing a firearm under a sweatshirt.
The suspect threatened to shoot the store clerk and demanded money. He stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene prior to deputies arriving, according to LCSO investigators. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is a white male, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches with a goatee. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with the word “Savage” inscribed on the front. The back of the sweatshirt has teeth on the upper and lower parts of the sweatshirt. He was also wearing camouflage style shorts and white and blue shoes.
He fled the scene westbound on Highway 50 in a silver or gray sports utility vehicle, possibly a Toyota or Mitsubishi. The vehicle is reported to have a tire rack affixed to the rear of the vehicle, the same as the vehicle color. A separate vehicle of interest, a white Chevrolet Malibu, was also observed in the area around the time of the crime.
