UPDATE: Carson City emergency crews are at the scene of a single-vehicle crash tonight in the southbound lane of I-580 just north of the Highway 50 onramp. The accident was reported at 6:37 p.m.
A motorist apparently hit the wall causing significant damage to the vehicle. The driver did not sustain significant injuries, according to a Carson City sheriff’s sergeant.
The Nevada Highway Patrol was also responding. At least one lane of traffic is blocked.
Motorists are urged to move slowly through the southbound lane as it remained blocked as of 7 p.m.
