My name is Laura Anderson and my husband Stephen Thompson and I live in Carson City. For our 20th wedding anniversary, he nominated us for America’s favorite couple.
Stephen and I have lived in Carson City for 6 years. He’s active in the Reno arts scene — most recently appearing as Mr. Duvall in Mean Girls and performing the National Anthem last Thursday at the Reno Aces game with Forte vocal. I am a therapist specializing in working with teen girls with trafficking and sexual abuse trauma.
Couples from all over the country have been competing through votes to advance each round (this started way back in the beginning of July). We’ve kept advancing and now the semi-finals end on Sept. 3. It’s free to vote with a Facebook account —and any purchased votes go towards Oceania (protecting the oceans and animals in them) and the LA Food Bank!
We have made it to the semi-finals and are hoping to keep going — it would be pretty amazing if a Northern Nevada couple was able to win it all after months of competing with couples from across the country!
