Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible Tuesday night in Carson City and portions of western Nevada and eastern California, according to the National Weather Service.
The unsettled weather is currently moving into the region and will continue into the early evening. Most of these storms will affect northwest and west central Nevada, moving northeast at 20 mph, according to the weather service.
Outflow wind gusts up to 45 mph will be possible with these storms.
Most of the storms will produce little or no rainfall, however lightning and gusty winds are likely. Watch for areas of blowing dust and reduced visibility. New lightning fire starts are possible.
The weather service advises that If you observe a fire or smoke plume, call your local fire or law enforcement agency.
