More than 100 area residents gathered in protest on Eastlake Blvd., just south of Washoe Lake State Park, on Saturday, August 22, from 8:30 AM to noon.
The gathering was organized through social media and local wildlife activists, bringing together a diverse group of youth, teens, parents, and elders from Carson City, Pleasant Valley, South Reno, and throughout Washoe Valley.
Many protesters displayed signs along the roadway with messages such as “Don’t Fence them out,” “Horses Need H2O Too ” and “NDA Don’t Fence Washoe.”
Additionally, one protester collected handwritten letters from attendees, which will be hand-delivered directly to Governor Lombardo’s office at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, August 25.
