Nevada Health Centers’ Mammovan returns August 25-26 to Carson City, giving women access to critically important screenings with affordable exams.

Celebrating its 25th year, the Mammovan continually travels the state, stopping in communities to accommodate women who are due for a mammography screening. The Mammovan will be in Carson City at the Sierra Nevada Health Center, 3325 Research Way on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 7:40 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.

Mammography screenings are primarily for women age 40 and older, however, screenings will be provided to those younger than 40 that have a screening referral from a provider. Call 1-877-581-6266, option 1 to make an appointment or go online here.

Nevada Health Centers accept most major insurance plans, Medicaid and Medicare. NVHC’s mission is to provide access to quality healthcare services throughout Nevada. Screenings are provided to all women regardless of economic status, with some of the cost also being covered through generous donations. Nevada Health Centers offers a sliding-fee discount program based on family size and income. For more information, visit www.nvhealthcenters.org.

The Mammovan began operations in 2000, and was initially made possible by a grant secured by former Congressman John Ensign and former First Lady of Nevada, Dema Guinn.

Established in 1977, Nevada Health Centers is a non-profit, federally qualified health center program dedicated to providing access to quality healthcare throughout Nevada. NVHC operates 20 health centers; five mobile programs, including the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, Mammovan, Nevada Children’s Health Project, Mobile Medical Services, and Mobile Dental Services and seven offices for women, infants and children in southern Nevada.
