We’ve now confirmed through multiple sources inside and out that the Nevada Appeal will once again publish on Tuesdays starting Sept. 28.
Our sources say this is related to the elections, which makes a lot of sense. It would be quite a hardship to not have a paper on Election Day, which in years past has be chock full of political ads.
But will it last past November? That’s a good question, considering their recent move to cut staff hours from their only remaining photographer position, which resulted in long-time shooter Cathleen Allison leaving to pursue her own business, NevadaPhotoSource.com.
(We also want to do a shout-out to Jim Grant, who took over Cat’s place. We’ve been friends with Jim for a long time, and he’s a great photographer.)
How do you add a production day and seemingly cut staff at the same time? Only time will tell. In the meantime, enjoy the return of your Tuesday paper while it lasts.
