The Carson City sheriff’s Office is looking to expand the Volunteers in Partnership program, also known as VIP. It is looking for qualified persons to assist in the patrol division, front counter and jail visiting programs.
All candidates will be trained by the sheriff’s office.
“If you are a retired person and can volunteer from 4 to 8 hours a week then this might be perfect for you if you are looking for something to do,” said CCSO Volunteer Coordinator Ken Smith.
To qualify as a volunteer you must have a valid Nevada driver’s license, not have any felony arrests, pass a background check and work well with others in the community. If this sounds like something you would be interested in doing, contact Smith at (775) 887-2020 or (775) 283-7810.
