The first day of school around the corner. Need school supplies? How about a new backpack? There’s two upcoming events that can help. The first is Friday in Carson City at Mills Park and the second is August 24 at any of four Lyon County Sheriff’s Office substations.
Northern Nevada Dream Center’s 6th annual Back to School Bash returns to Mills Park, 1111 East William Street, in Carson City this Friday, August 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Each year, the Dream Center puts on the event that provides backpacks, school supplies, grocery vouchers and more to children and families in our community. This year, they are hosting a combined event for Carson City, Douglas, Storey and Lyon County elementary school students.
There will be fire trucks, treats, games, raffle prizes, free groceries and resources for families, backpacks stuffed with school supplies and more.
Students must be present and accompanied by a guardian.
