The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified two from Roseburg, Oregon who died in an April 23 collision in Lyon County.

On April 23rd, 2026, at approximately 8:21 a.m., NHP, a division of the Nevada State Police, responded to a fatal crash on SR827 at SR208 in Yerington, Nev.

The preliminary investigation indicates a Toyota RAV4 was traveling eastbound on SR827, approaching a stop sign at the intersection with SR208. A Ram 2500 pickup, was traveling southbound on SR208, approaching the intersection with SR827. The Toyota did not stop at the stop sign. The Toyota and the Ram entered the intersection; the Toyota struck the Ram. After the collision, the Toyota left the roadway and struck a boulder, a fence, and overturned onto its right side. The Ram left the roadway, struck a fence, and overturned onto its roof.

The driver of the Toyota, Chin Poovichitr, a 77-year-old male, from Roseburg, Oregon, was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. The Toyota passenger, Ruetai Poovichitr, a 66-year-old female, from Roseburg, Oregon, was transported to a local area hospital where she was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

The driver of the Ram was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries. Impairment is not suspected as a factor in this crash.

The Nevada Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is investigating this crash.
