Free in-person presentation will help gardeners add winter color to local landscapes

The Carson City Master Gardeners invite the community to a free, in-person Garden Talk at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the Carson City Community Gardens, 1044 Beverly Drive.

Although summer temperatures remain high, now is an ideal time for gardeners to begin planning for winter interest in their landscapes. Cold weather does not have to result in a colorless garden; winter-flowering trees and shrubs can provide seasonal color, fragrance, and visual appeal. During the presentation, a Certified Master Gardener will discuss plant selections suited to local gardens and offer guidance for enhancing landscapes throughout the colder months.

This will be the final Garden Talk for the 2026 season. Gardeners of all experience levels are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and learn practical tips from local experts. Attendees should bring a chair and arrive ready to join the conversation.
