With the first day of school fast approaching, Monday, August 18 (K-12), and August 20 (Kindergarten and Pre-K), Carson City School District wants all students and parents to be aware of some important back-to-school details that will be helpful for students and families. Several meet-and-greet activities and kick-off events scheduled next week and the following weeks are expected to help ease the process.
At Carson High School, all students (including CHS Silver Campus) are invited to attend the Senator Kick-Off (grades 10, 11 and 12) Monday, Aug. 11, and the Big Blue Welcome – Freshman Orientation Tuesday, Aug. 12. Below is information regarding both events.
Senator Kick-Off, Aug. 11, Upper Classmen (grades 10, 11, and 12) will meet outside the main entrance, during their scheduled time (seniors – 8:15 a.m., juniors – 9:15 a.m. and sophomores – 10:15 a.m.). All returning students must complete the Infinite Campus online update prior to Senator Kick-Off to receive their class schedule, schedule elective classes, access their Chromebook and purchase parking passes, etc. The Infinite Campus online update must be completed yearly to ensure the students’ contact information is correct and includes annual permission and consent forms. Login to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal to review and update student/family information. Contact Molly Evans at mevans@carson.k12.nv.us or 775-283-1838 for assistance. Students must have an updated Infinite Campus and Yondr cell phone pouch to receive a schedule or purchase a parking pass. If your student did not return the Yondr pouch at the end of last school year, bring it to kick-off day to renew the checkout. Students who returned the Yondr pouch will be checked out a pouch on Kick-Off Day.
Big Blue Welcome – Freshmen Orientation, Aug. 12, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Group 1 – 8:00-10:00 a.m. and Group 2 – 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.). Freshmen (grade 9) will meet outside the main entrance. Freshmen and their families will receive an invitation indicating the time their student is to attend. Students must complete the Infinite Campus online update prior to the Big Blue Welcome to receive their class schedule, schedule elective classes, receive their Chromebook, etc. The Infinite Campus online update must be completed yearly to ensure the students’ contact information is correct and includes annual permission and consent forms. More information with details of the Big Blue Welcome is outlined in a letter being sent out to freshmen families. Parents/guardians will not be allowed to accompany students to freshmen orientation.
Student items available for purchase at the Senator Kick-off and Big Blue Welcome include
- Parking Permits $20.00 – Parking Permit requires Application, Payment, Valid Driver’s License, and current Infinite Campus update
- P.E. Uniforms – $30.00/set or PE shirt $15, PE shorts $15
- Student Body Stickers – $25.00- requires current Infinite Campus update. Student Body Stickers provide student access to all home, non-playoff games and discounts on dances/events throughout the year.
- Concussion Test – $15
- Yearbooks – $85
- Student Locker – $10.00, a one-time payment for all 4 years of high school.

Student Pictures – CHS Campus Photos will be offered through Prestige Portraits for Grades 9-11 will be Oct. 23 and 24, 2025. Make-up pictures will be December 3. Senior Photos will be Sept. 23-26 and Nov. 10-14.
For CHS Athletics, all student-athletes and families participating in fall programs are invited to attend the Parent Meeting Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 5:30 p.m.
Additionally, in September, Carson High will have its school-wide Open House, Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
Other schools in the Carson City School District will fill out the upcoming weeks with Meet & Greets, Back-to-School events and Parent Information Nights. Those include the following alphabetically by middle school and then elementary school.
Eagle Valley Middle School will host a Back-to-School Boot Camp (sixth-graders – 3:30-4:15 p.m., seventh-graders – 4:15-5:00 p.m. and eighth-graders – 5:00-5:45 p.m.) Thursday, Aug. 14.
Carson Middle School invites students and families to participate in its Back-to-School Sneak Preview (sixth-graders – 4:30-6:00 p.m. and seventh-graders – 5:00-6:00 p.m.) Thursday, Aug. 14. Additionally, Carson Middle School will have its school-wide Open House Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Bordewich Bray Elementary School will host Parent Information Nights from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 11, 12 and 13. Bordewich Bray Elementary School invites all Pre-K and Kindergarten students and families to attend its Parent Information Night Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 6:00 p.m.
Empire Elementary School will host a Meet & Greet event for all students and families (grades 1-5) Friday, Aug. 15, at 3:00 and 4:30 p.m. Additionally, Empire Elementary will have its Fall Festival Friday, Oct. 17, at 5:00 p.m.
Fremont Elementary School will host a Back-to-School Night Friday, Aug. 15, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. Fremont Elementary School invites all Pre-K and Kindergarten students and families to attend a Meet & Greet event Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Additionally, Fremont Elementary will have its Fall Festival Friday, Sept. 12, from 4:30-7:00 p.m.
Fritsch Elementary School invites students and families to its Back-to-School Ice Cream Social from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14.
Mark Twain Elementary School invites students and families to join them for their Back-to-School Night Friday, Aug. 15, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. A Kindergarten Orientation will also be held at Mark Twain Elementary School Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Seeliger Elementary School will host Back-to-School events for students and families Thursday, Aug. 21, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
Annual Updates and Online Enrollment
Annual online updates for returning students and online enrollment for new students is now available for the 2025-2026 school year through the Infinite Campus Portal.
Returning Students: All parents or guardians must update their student’s information every school year, which includes annual permission and consent forms. To do this, please follow the steps below.
- Visit the District website at www.carsoncityschools.com
- Click on the blue “Registration” button under the main picture
- Click on the blue “Infinite Campus Portal” button under “Returning Student Registration”
- Enter your Username & Password and click “Login”
- Click on “Online Registration” under “Shortcuts” on the lower right-hand side of the screen
- Click “Start” on the right side of “Current Student Annual Updates”
- Click the blue “Begin Registration” button
- Complete the annual online updates and click the red “Submit” button
If you do not have an Infinite Campus user name and password, please contact your school.
New Students: Parents or guardians will need to log onto www.carsoncityschools.com and click on the “Registration” button under the main picture. Select the blue “New Student Registration” button to complete the enrollment process. New student enrollment requirements include a copy of the student’s birth certificate, immunization record, proof of residency (Utility Bill/Lease Agreement) and parent/guardian photo ID. Pre-K Registration: Children who will be 4 years old by Aug. 1, 2025, may qualify for the Carson City School District Pre-K program for the 2025-2026 school year. Upon turning 4 years of age, the child who will be attending pre-school will need to complete the following vaccinations: fifth DTap, fourth IPV, second MMR, second Varicella, second Hepatitis A and third Hepatitis B. Meningococcal and Tdap Vaccinations
Nevada law requires, BEFORE the first day of school, all current twelfth-graders (seniors) attending any Nevada public, private or charter school for the 2025-2026 school year, must have a second dose of the MCV4 (meningococcal) vaccine and all seventh and eighth-graders must have their first dose of MCV4 and Tdap prior to the start of the school year, Monday, August 18, 2025. If students are not immunized prior to the first day of school, they will be “conditionally enrolled.”

Free and Reduced Lunch Program Information
The Carson City School District offers a Free and Reduced Lunch Program for grades Pre-K-12. Applications for this program can be accessed on the district website, carsoncityschools.com, by selecting “Families & Students” on the menu bar, then click “Nutrition Services” and scroll down to “Educational Benefits Application.” You can click on “Educational Benefits Application” for information, or you may click “Apply Online” to start the application. Copies of the application are also available at each school site office. If you would like more information about the Free and Reduced Lunch Program, please contact your child’s school office.
