UPDATE: Power has been restored in both Douglas County and Carson City after multiple NV Energy outages.

UPDATE: As of 9:10 p.m. 290 NV Energy customers were without power in Douglas County.

UPDATE 7:14PM: In an unusual turn of NV Energy outage events, the utility is now reporting 2,604 customers are without power Saturday evening in Douglas County. It had been 2015, then it was reduced to 356 customers without power.

The utility says there’s a total of seven outages in Douglas County. The utility’s website did not say what the cause is and did not indicate at an approximate restoration time. For updates, go here. The utility did not have any Carson City outages listed as of 7:14 p.m. Earlier Saturday afternoon, there was more than 1,500 customers without power in east Carson City.

UPDATE: NV Energy is now reporting restoration in Douglas County to all but 356 customers as of 6:10 PM. The utility had reported 2,015 without power. For updates, go here.

UPDATE 6:05PM: NV Energy is reporting more than 2,000 customers without power in Douglas County. A Carson Now reader notes that the outage is affecting the area of Topsy Lane and Indian Hills near the Carson City, Douglas County line.

As of the time of this writing, the recent outage is affecting 2,015 customers, according to the map view on the NV Energy website. It had been reported earlier to be around 1,798 customers. One reader noted the outage is affecting some parts of South Carson Street in Carson City. Readers are reporting traffic lights near Topsy Lane are out causing traffic to back up.

This latest happened after an outage earlier in east Carson City that had affected more than 1,500 NV Energy customers. As of 5:35 p.m. that outage is now affecting 217 customers.

As temperatures approach 100 degrees in Carson City, NV Energy reports a power outage Saturday afternoon affecting at least 1,567 customers.

The outages, five of them, apparently happened at around 3:30 p.m. Outages are reported to be mostly in east Carson City.

At this time, NV Energy has not provided a cause (reportedly under investigation) or estimated restoration time.
