A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Northridge and Lompa Lane just before 2 a.m. Thursday morning for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

According to the arrest report, deputies made a traffic stop after witnessing a vehicle take an “odd” route and fail to make a proper stop at a stop sign.

On contact with the driver, deputies reported they immediately observed white powder on the man’s lap, as well as the man’s right nostril, and on the outside of a hidden compartment in the vehicle’s dashboard.

K9 Deputy Berry was dispatched to provide an open-air sniff of the vehicle, resulting in a positive alert.

Deputies searched the vehicle and opened the hidden compartment, revealing a bag with “white chalky powder” inside. A presumptive test came back positive for cocaine.

The man was taken into custody for possession and paraphernalia.

Carson City man arrested for allegedly punching woman in the face after argument

A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 200 block of David Street Wednesday night for domestic battery first after allegedly punching a woman in the face.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to David Street on report of a domestic battery between two people who had been separated.

While searching for the parties, the man approached deputies from his apartment complex and said that he was involved in the domestic battery.

Retold deputies that he had been out drinking with the woman and when they got home from the bar, the woman had attempted to take his vehicle. He told deputies he was “just trying to do the right thing” by stopping her from drinking and driving.

He said he told the woman not to drive when she became upset and started walking away from the apartment yelling at him. He said he followed her into the street, pushed her, and told her to go back to the apartment saying “We can talk about this in the morning.”

Deputies asked him if it ever got physical, and he said no. They asked again to tell them what happened earlier, and he said he grabbed the woman and pushed her back towards the apartment.

Deputies asked if he had hit her, and he said he would never hit her and that she had hit him in the past.

Deputies spoke with the woman who was highly intoxicated. She said she and the man had been out drinking, they’d gotten into an argument, and while she was walking away, he hit her in the face.

Deputies then spoke with a witness who said they were walking out of a residence when they heard yelling in the street. They said they observed the man and the woman, the woman yelling, then the man punching her in the face. They said they heard the woman yell “Don’t punch me,” and then start running away.

While the woman was running away, the witness said they heard the man yelling to “come back,” at which point the witness got involved. They yelled “Hey, do you need help?” and then ran down the street to help the woman.

They said that when they approached the man and the woman, the witness stood behind the woman as they walked away from the man, and while they were walking away, the man was yelling to “call the cops.”

The man was taken into custody, and he provided a PBT of .145% BrAC.

Carson City man arrested for domestic battery after allegedly throwing woman into door, restraining her from leaving after argument

A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 1100 block of Coronet Way on report of a domestic battery between two parties.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the man who had blood coming from his right fist and a “reddened face.” He said he had been drinking and had consumed four shots. He said that he and the female party had been arguing, and when she attempted to leave, he grabbed her and refused to let her exit the room.

Deputies spoke with the woman who deputies noted was also intoxicated. She said she and the man had been arguing, but that she didn’t want anything bad to happen to him as she’d just gotten engaged. She said that he had restrained her in the room by wrapping both of his hands around her shoulders, and that he threw her into the door at their residence.

While the report states that they took photographs of the woman’s injuries, it does not say what injuries she had sustained, and it also does not account for why the man’s hand was bleeding.

The man was taken into custody for domestic battery and released to jail staff without incident.
