Night Off the Streets (NOTS), a Carson City nonprofit that provides temporary warming shelter to the homeless at local churches during winter, is hosting its Summer Party Fundraiser, today, Saturday August 1.
All are welcome to the fundraiser, happening at 405 North Nevada Street behind Artsy Fartsy gallery, from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be food, games, music, a 50/50 raffle and more.
All proceeds go directly back into the operations of NOTS, helping them to purchase sleeping bags for the warming center, provide water during hot days and other supplies as needed.

NOTS operates nightly from Nov. 1 through March 31, offering a safe, warm place to sleep, coffee and basic provisions, using a different local rotating church each month to house the nightly pop-up shelter.
Over the years, NOTS has expanded from a pure winter-only pop-up shelter into offering broader support services, relying heavily on hundreds of local volunteers and multiple community fundraisers.
During summer, NOTS volunteers take to the street to provide water for homeless individuals as part of the overall year-round homeless outreach, which includes direct referrals for housing, healthcare, mental health and employment.
Donations and fundraiser such as the summer party fundraiser help keep the nonprofit functioning. See the NOTS website here for information including how to donate and ways to volunteer.
