Visitors and residents kicked off the month of August this Saturday afternoon with a toast from more than 30 local businesses participating in the Carson City Downtown Wine Walk.

Guests on the wine walks, held on the first Saturday of every month, receive a commemorative Carson City wine glass and map, and can sample wine at each stop, have the opportunity to shop for great deals and win raffle prizes.

The wine walk runs from 1 to 5 p.m. Wrist band and map of designated stops are $15 or $12 with glass. The next one is Saturday, Sept. 5. Sign ups are at the Carson Nugget, Cactus Jacks, Bella Fiore Wines, Carson Jewelry and Loan, Remedy’s Bar, or Touched by Angels.
