Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies responded Sunday afternoon to a hit and run collision involving a motorcycle and vehicle near the Spooner Junction intersection of South Carson Street, US-50 and I-580.
The incident happened at around 1:10 p.m at I-580 northbound near Fairview Drive. The motorcycle rider suffered a leg injury and was bleeding. First responders applied a tourniquet on the rider and ordered an air ambulance where he was flown to a Reno hospital trauma center.
The vehicle believed to be involved in the hit and run was stopped by a Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputy after apparently traveling on Fairview.
Traffic has been diverted around the scene. Motorists can expect delays.
