Carson City Fire Department responded Saturday evening to a report of a fire at the Carson City landfill off of US-50 East and Flint Drive.
At around 6:15 p.m. Carson City dispatch alerted the fire department about a fire in the landfill. The size of the fire is unknown at this time.
The landfill has been prone to fires for many years, with some of the ignition problems blamed on discarded batteries.
