UPDATE: Carson City Fire Department, sheriff’s deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol responded early Saturday afternoon to a vehicle accident in the southbound turn lane of I-580 and South Carson Street.
The two-vehicle rear-end collision, reported at 12:15 p.m., involves a Subaru Outback that was towing a horse trailer and another vehicle. One person was taken to the hospital and one person was reportedly going to self-transport to the hospital, said NHP Trooper James LaRose. Two mules inside the horse trailer were not injured.
Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies temporarily closed the turnoff.
Motorists can expect delays.
