On Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at approximately 1:50 p.m., Nevada Highway Patrol troopers responded to a fatal crash at US-50 and SR-341 in Lyon County.
Preliminary investigation shows that a silver 2017 Subaru Outback was traveling eastbound on US-50 in the left turn lane approaching the intersection with SR-341. For reasons unknown, the driver allowed the Subaru to enter the westbound travel lanes and overturned.
The driver, Louis Foster, a 61-year-old Virginia City resident, was transported to a local area hospital where he succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
This crash is being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) – NHP Case No. 210701034.
