Good morning, star seekers. The week begins with a little static in the air as careful Venus clashes with unpredictable Uranus, revealing where a relationship, expense or neatly organized plan may no longer fit the life around it. Tuesday’s New Moon in Cancer invites a fresh start around home, family and emotional security, though Mercury’s retrograde motion suggests the way forward may begin with something left unfinished. An old conversation, neglected need or half-forgotten lesson could provide the missing piece. By Sunday, Mars and Saturn settle into a productive alignment, helping turn restless energy into steady progress. This is not a week for racing ahead blindly. It is a week for looking back just long enough to choose the better road.

Aries

Home and family matters come into focus under Tuesday’s New Moon. A household decision or long-running family conversation may need to return to its starting point before anyone can move forward. Monday could bring an unexpected change at work or a disruption to the usual schedule, but the inconvenience may expose a problem that was already there. By Sunday, you will be in a stronger position to speak plainly and make a firm decision. Take the time to choose your words, rather than tossing sparks into dry brush.

Taurus

Messages, paperwork, errands and local connections may require extra attention this week. A delayed conversation or abandoned idea could be worth revisiting, though you will want to check the facts rather than relying on memory alone. Monday may also bring a surprise involving money, recreation or something you have been tempted to buy. Not every impulse is foolish, but not every impulse deserves your wallet either. The weekend favors quiet, methodical work and handling a problem before it has a chance to grow.

Gemini

The New Moon turns your attention toward income, possessions and the value of your time. Because Mercury is retrograde, the most useful beginning may involve correcting something from the past: a missed payment, inaccurate bill, forgotten resource or rate that no longer reflects the work involved. Mars in your sign keeps you moving quickly, but Monday’s unsettled energy could tempt you to make a dramatic change simply to relieve the pressure. Give the real motive time to surface. By Sunday, support from a friend, group or long-term plan can help put your energy to better use.

Cancer

Tuesday’s New Moon occurs in your sign, offering one of the year’s strongest opportunities for a personal reset. You may be reconsidering your health, appearance, direction or the role you have been expected to play in other people’s lives. Mercury retrograde suggests that reinvention does not require erasing your past. Look back at what has consistently worked, even during difficult seasons. A surprising message or private realization early in the week may change how you see the situation. For now, quiet preparation will carry more weight than a public announcement.

Leo

This week asks for rest, reflection and a little distance from the noise. Jupiter may be opening a larger chapter for you, but even good growth needs room to take root. Tuesday’s New Moon highlights old worries, unfinished endings and habits that become harder to ignore when you are tired. Monday may also bring tension between money and a friendship or future plan, particularly if someone else’s urgency is beginning to feel like your responsibility. By the weekend, a teacher, group or trusted ally could help turn a distant goal into a workable route forward.

Virgo

Friendships, community ties and long-range plans are ready for reconsideration. An old collaborator, former goal or unfinished group project may return, but there is no requirement to restore the arrangement exactly as it was. Venus in your sign clashes with Uranus in your career sector Monday, revealing where your public role may no longer match the person you have become. A professional surprise could be inconvenient, but it may also be honest. By Sunday, a practical conversation about funding, shared work or responsibility can help steady the next step.

Libra

The New Moon opens a fresh cycle around career, reputation and public responsibility. A former assignment, employer or ambition may reappear, giving you a chance to approach it with more experience than before. Early in the week, however, you may feel a strong urge to escape the pressure through travel, study or a dramatic change of scenery. Let the idea breathe before you act on it. By Sunday, a serious conversation with a partner or colleague can establish clearer expectations and a more balanced agreement.

Scorpio

Travel, education, publishing, legal matters and larger questions of belief move to the foreground this week. A delayed trip, abandoned manuscript or unfinished course of study may deserve another look. Mercury retrograde suggests the path itself may still be useful, even if the old map needs correcting. Monday could reveal strain involving friends, organizations or shared money, especially where expectations were never clearly stated. By Sunday, careful planning around debts, obligations or divided labor can replace uncertainty with measurable progress.

Sagittarius

Shared money, taxes, debts and private agreements call for an honest accounting. Tuesday’s New Moon supports a new arrangement, but only after the old numbers and promises have been examined properly. Monday may bring tension between career expectations and a close relationship, making it tempting to calm one situation by overpromising in the other. Resist that shortcut. By Sunday, a partner, creative project or matter involving children can move forward through clear limits and realistic commitments.

Capricorn

Partnerships and close collaborations enter a new chapter this week. Mercury retrograde suggests that progress will come through revisiting the terms of an existing agreement rather than rushing to replace it. Monday may disrupt travel, work or health plans, so leave yourself more room than usual. By Sunday, a practical household change or clearer division of duties can ease tension in a relationship that has been carrying too much weight. Not every structure needs to be demolished. Some simply need better support.

Aquarius

Work, health and daily routines are ready for repair. The New Moon favors rescheduling an appointment, restoring a useful habit or correcting a system that keeps creating the same problem. Monday could bring an unexpected development involving shared money, creativity, children or recreation, but uncertainty is not the same thing as disaster. Avoid assuming the worst before the facts arrive. By Sunday, a written plan, firm schedule or well-defined next step can turn an interesting idea into something dependable.

Pisces

Creativity, romance and pleasure return to the center of the conversation this week. An abandoned project, former love or neglected pastime may resurface, not necessarily so you can recreate the past, but so you can recover what once made it meaningful. Monday’s tension between partnership and home life may make it harder to preserve peace through silence alone. A real adjustment may be needed. By Sunday, careful attention to money and household resources can give a creative or family decision firmer ground.

Guide for Stargazers

Tuesday’s New Moon brings northern Nevada its darkest skies of the month. The nights surrounding July 14 offer one of July’s best opportunities to see the Milky Way from a genuinely dark location. Later in the evening, look south toward Scorpius and Sagittarius, where the galaxy’s crowded central region appears as a pale band above the horizon. The farther you travel from valley lights, the more detail will emerge.

Comet 10P/Tempel 2 is also nearing its best viewing window around the New Moon, though observers should keep expectations realistic. It will not appear as a dramatic naked-eye comet. Binoculars or a telescope, a dark viewing site and a little patience will be needed to find its faint glow near Capricornus after nightfall.

On Friday, July 17, look low in the western sky after sunset for a young crescent Moon beside brilliant Venus. Earthshine may softly illuminate the Moon’s darkened face. Venus remains the easiest evening planet to spot, while reddish Mars and brighter Saturn are better seen before dawn. Around Carson City, an open western horizon will help with Friday’s pairing, while darker desert or foothill locations will provide the better view of the Milky Way.
