A 31-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday night in the 500 block of S. Saliman Road for DUI first after deputies were dispatched on report of suspicious circumstances. 

The reporting party said people were yelling from inside of a vehicle. 

Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with two people inside the vehicle. The passenger told deputies that he was going to get Mexican food, and that his wife had shown up and started arguing with him. 

Deputies noted that the wife was in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running, “in a  seated position to drive.” They said the vehicle was parked diagonally across multiple spaces.

Deputies separated the couple and spoke to them individually. While speaking with the wife, they noted she had an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. She told deputies she’d been drinking earlier in the day. 

She agreed to field sobriety tests, and showed multiple signs of impairment according to the arrest report. She provided a PBT with a result of .167 BAC. 

She was taken into custody without issue.

Truck-sleeper arrested for possession of ex-roommate’s muscle relaxers

A Carson City man was arrested for possession of a medication without a prescription after being investigated for “camping and dumping items all over the park.” 

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched Wednesday morning on report of a man with a pick up truck who was throwing items around a William Street park. 

When deputies arrived, they found the vehicle parked with a man sleeping in the truck’s bed. He was holding a Modelo tall can. Deputies woke him up and he said he was “wasting some time” before he had to pick up his daughter. 

K9 Deputy Dakota arrived and performed a free air sniff of the vehicle, providing a positive alert at the rear side of the vehicle and at the seams at the bottom of the doors on the driver’s side. 

Deputies searched the vehicle and located a prescription bottle beneath the driver’s seat belonging to another person. The pills contained two different types of pills, and drugs.com identified them as a muscle relaxer available only through prescription. 

Deputies spoke with the man, who said the medication belonged to his friend who used to live with him. He said he’d seen the bottle in his vehicle a couple of times. 

He was taken into custody on a gross misdemeanor charge of possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription.

In other reports:

— A 43-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 3200 block of Highway 50 E. for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. 

According to the arrest report, Just after 2 a.m. Thursday morning deputies observed a vehicle traveling without an operating right break light and conducted a traffic stop. 

On contact with the driver, he said he did not have his license on him, but provided deputies with information. He could not locate proof of insurance, or his registration. 

The reporting deputy said he “began shuffling through documents and appeared to be nervous.” 

They said he was “speaking very quickly” to the point that the deputy had to repeat their questions. Dispatch advised the man was an ex-felon with previous drug history, and a K9 deputy was requested. 

An unnamed K9 deputy responded, and their handler advised of a positive alert.  A search of the vehicle resumed in locating a glass pipe in the middle console, and a small clear bag with presumed methamphetamine under the driver’s seat. 

Deputies detained the man and asked if the substance was meth, to which he allegedly confirmed. 

The man was taken into custody and booked into the jail without issue.

— A 37-year-old transient man was arrested on two contempt of court warrants issued out of Carson City Justice Court May 7, 2025. Both were for failure to appear, and he was brought in my a Bail Bonds officer regarding bond revocation. Bail: $10,000 cash only.
