One person is dead after an accident this morning eight miles east of Fallon on Highway 50.
A male driver was killed in the two-vehicle accident and a female sustained injuries and was transported to Bannar Churchill Memorial Hospital, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Her condition is unknown at this time. Eastbound traffic was closed temporarily because of the accident, which was reported shortly after 7 this morning.
According to NHP, troopers were dispatched from the NHP-Fallon District to the automobile accident near mile marker 32, east of Fallon. The preliminary crash investigation details indicate that two vehicles were traveling east bound in tandem, according to the NHP. The rear vehicle veered across the oncoming travel lane and then steered back to the east bound lane again and struck the rear of the lead vehicle. Both vehicles departed the right roadway edge and each rolled over.  The male driver of the striking vehicle died at the scene while the other driver, a female, sustained injuries and was transported to the Fallon hospital.
