A pristine, uncirculated 1884 Carson City Morgan silver dollar, valued at approximately $369, will be awarded to a lucky winner at the upcoming Nevada State Museum Coin Show on Sept. 19.
The rare coin, generously donated by Northern Nevada Coin, is being raffled by the Friends of the Nevada State Museum, with all proceeds supporting the organization’s vital work.
Raffle tickets are available for $5 (cash only) each at the Nevada State Museum on Friday, July 2 and Saturday, July 3 (9:30 am to 3:30 pm). The coin comes in a collector case and includes a numbered certificate detailing the significance of the Carson City Morgan dollar. The winner does not need to be present at the drawing to win.
The Friends of the Nevada State Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the State Museum’s mission of enhancing the understanding of Nevada’s history, environment and diverse cultures. Their “encircling commitment” includes leading educational tours of the State Museum and Capitol, fundraising for special Museum needs, advocating for enhanced state funding, and fostering a sense of community among members.
