NDOT news release

For easier Fourth of July holiday travel in the Lake Tahoe Basin, no lane closures will take place on State Route 28 and 431 July 1-10 as part of Nevada Department of Transportation Incline Village-area highway improvements.
No construction-related lane closures will take place on State Route 28 or 431 near Incline Village from 8 a.m. July 1 through 8 p.m. July 10.
The following two work zones will be in place as work resumes at 8 p.m. July 10:
Lane and shoulder closures will take place on Mt. Rose Highway between the summit and State Route 28 roundabout from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 3a.m. to noon Fridays as crews replace aging roadside barrier rail.
Traffic will continue to be reduced to a single lane, controlled by a traffic flagger, Sundays at 8p.m. through Fridays at noon on State Route 28 near the Thunderbird Lodge south of Sand Harbor State Park. Drainage improvements are being made to reduce pooling water on the roadway and enhance water quality and ensure additional stormwater treatment before reaching Lake Tahoe.
Drivers can anticipate delays of up to 30 minutes with alternating directions of traffic through the work zone.
Commercial trucks with air brakes continue to be prohibited during active road work hours from traveling westbound over Mt. Rose Highway between Mt. Rose ski resort and Incline Village. The truck closure is a safety precaution to prevent trucks traveling down the mountain potentially encountering brake issues in the road work zone. Trucks are allowed eastbound.
Begun in 2021, the multi-year highway improvements will resurface sections of State Route 28 and 431 centered around Incline Village, as well as improve roadside drainage, pedestrian access, barrier rail, guardrails and more.
