The Nevada Humane Society, Carson City branch currently has four dogs and three cats being held as strays at their Carson City campus.
“The pets listed have recently come into our care in Carson City,” a spokesperson for the Humane Society wrote. “They were either found by kindhearted individuals who couldn’t locate their owners or were picked up as strays by our Humane Enforcement Officers. All lost pets are held for five days to give their owners a chance to reclaim them. After this period, unclaimed pets become available for adoption, allowing them to find a new loving home.”
In addition to those listed in this log, there are also dozens of kittens that recently came into NHS, and are listed as “animal in custody,” but not as strays. Many appear to be only a few weeks old, and wouldn’t be up for adoption, but if you are interested in becoming a foster, please click here.

Duke
“Duke” is a two-year-old male Labrador Retriever who is approximately 73 lbs. He has light brown eyes and a solid black body.
He was found in the 2200 block of Dori Way on June 23, 2025.
Stray puppy – sister 1
A one month old female Labrador mix puppy was found in the area of Deer Run Road on June 23, 2025.
She weighs 7.8 lbs and has an all black coat and dark eyes.
Stray puppy – sister 2
A one month old female Labrador mix puppy was found in the area of Deer Run Road on June 23, 2025.
She weighs 9 lbs and has an all black coat and dark eyes.
Stray puppy – brother
A one month old male Labrador mix puppy was found in the area of Deer Run Road on June 23, 2025.
He weighs 8.8 lbs and has an all black coat and dark eyes.
Cats
Female Stray – 3 months old
A domestic shorthair mix kitten was found in the 1400 block of Kingsley Lane June 24, 2025.
She weighs 3.08 lbs with a grey and black tabby color pattern.
Male Stray – 3 months old
A domestic shorthair mix kitten was found in the 1400 block of Kingsley Lane June 24, 2025.
He weighs 2.92 lbs and is white with black and grey markings and yellow eyes.
Female Stray – 3 months old
A domestic shorthair mix kitten was found in the 1400 block of Kingsley Lane June 24, 2025.
She weighs 2.60 lbs with a white body with black markings.
